Mango Forest Wetland Park (Sanmin District)

Mango Forest Wetland Park is located by Dingjinhou Road in Sanmin. Established by the Kaohsiung City Government, it serves multiple functions, including ecological conservation, water purification, flood prevention and recreation. In a densely populated urban area like Kaohsiung, wetlands of this kind are especially valuable. The 3.7-hectare wetland park was originally part of the Caogong Canal network, near the upper stretches of the Love River. In order to restore the ancient canal and its ponds, ecological engineering methods were adopted to purify the water and to create spaces both on land and in water that provide habitat for wildlife. The resulting ecological greenbelt allows residents of the community to rediscover the gentle charms and beauty of natural wetlands.
